Make a karaoke version of any song
Upload a song and get it back without the voice: a karaoke track to sing over. Listen as soon as the split is done, move it to your key if the original sits too high or too low, and download it as MP3 or WAV.
How to make a karaoke track from a song
Upload the song
Drop in an MP3, WAV, FLAC or M4A, or a video with the song in it. Nothing to install.
The voice comes out
A neural network takes the vocal out of the mix in about one and a half times the song's length. You can close the tab and come back.
Pick the key and download
The player opens on the instrumental. Under it, Sing it in your key moves the backing up or down for your voice. Download it as MP3 or WAV; downloads open after a free sign-in.
Too high or too low? Sing it in your key
A song is pitched for the singer who recorded it, not for you. Measure your range in the warm-up, about a minute; after the split the site compares it with the singer's and suggests how far to move the backing. The tempo stays the same, and your range is kept only in your browser.
Questions
Which songs make the cleanest karaoke track?
Studio recordings with one lead voice up front. The reverb and echo on a voice are the hardest part to remove, so a wet vocal can leave a faint shadow in the backing, and dense choruses with stacked harmonies can leave traces of the backing vocals. Live recordings and low-bitrate files are harder still. It is free, so the quickest check is the song you want to sing.
The original is too high for me. Can I sing it lower?
Yes. After the split, Sing it in your key under the player moves the instrumental down or up in semitone steps, up to 6 either way, at the same tempo, and suggests a shift once the warm-up has measured your range. A semitone or two is hard to hear; past three or four the instruments start to sound artificial, and singing an octave lower is often the better choice. Each new key counts as one track against your limit.
Will the lyrics show on screen while I sing?
When speech recognition is running on the server, a Recognise the lyrics button appears under the player: it reads the words from the vocal and highlights each one as it is sung. Expect about one word in five to be wrong on singing; double-click a word to correct it, and its timing stays put. If the button is not there, recognition is switched off at the moment. Nothing is saved.
Is the karaoke maker free? Do I need an account?
It is free, with no paid tier and no watermark. Splitting a song and listening to the result work without an account, up to 3 tracks a day; saving the files asks for a free sign-in with Telegram or Google, which also raises the limit to 40 tracks an hour. Songs up to 60 MB and 6 minutes.
Is the song I upload kept or shared?
No. It is processed on our own server and never sent to another company. The file and the karaoke track are deleted after two hours, and the download links are unguessable random tokens. The only exception is one you ask for: if you choose to get the result in Telegram, the files are sent to your chat.
